Overview:
The Spiess family began farming in Bechtheim in 1509, until a generation ago. The family originally focused on livestock until Jürgen and his wife, Ute, decided to dapple in grape growing. Not long after, they realized the grapes deserved their full attention. Today their sons, Johannes and Christian, oversee the family’s 32 ha of vines and the winery where they follow minimal intervention winemaking. The many years of farming taught the Spiess’ to have the utmost respect for: family, nature and hard work.
