Description
Slogan:
The essential is invisible to the eye

Tasting Note:
"The 2014 Léoville Poyferré has a very complex bouquet with blackberry, bilberry, crushed stone, cedar and hints of violet. It is extremely focused, intense rather than overtly powerful. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannin, crisp and generous, conveying much more tension and precision than the Léoville Las-Cases. It gradually fans out in the second half with real mineralité, quite profound in the context of the vintage. Outstanding."
- Vinous 95 points

Dominant Flavor:
Blackberry, Bilberry

Food Matching:
Steak, Pork, Cheese

Overview:
Léoville-Poyferré was once part of the much larger Léoville estate until the time of the French Revolution when it was separated into Château Léoville-Las Cases and Château Léoville-Barton. In 1840, Château Léoville-Las Cases was again divided forming Château Léoville-Poyferré which went to Baron de Poyferré when he married the daughter of Jean de Las-Cases.
